Miguel's biography

Hello everyone!

Today, I am going to dedicate an entry to satisfy your curiosity about my boyfriend. So I have decided to do what you had to do for the English subject: a biography. As you are so curious with my boyfriend, I am going to tell you many things about him.

My boyfriend is called Miguel and he was born the 23rd of July in Alcalá de Henares. His most influential person when he was a child was his mom since she was the person who took care of him. In addition, when he was a child, like you, he had a dog called Rocco and a turtle called Alfred. He loved them!

Moreover, the happiest moment he has ever lived was when he was in United States for one year. He was there when he was 16 years old and he was living in Oklahoma State with a native family. He thinks that this is the best experience he has ever lived. He learnt too much English and he could learn about American traditions and routines. He also visited many different places there.

Last summer, Miguel visited Asturias during one week with her girlfriend (me! :)). He visited places such as Covadonga (which is an amazing cathedral on the top of a mountain), Arriondas, Ribadesella, Cangas de Onís, etc. There, he practiced whitewater rafting in the Sella river.
Furthermore, he went to Denia with his parents and his brothers. He enjoyed too much!

When he was very young, he was afraid of scary movies and amusement parks. Now, he is not afraid of these but he doesn't like these types of movies and he doesn't like amusement parks too. He prefers aquatic parks.

His most remarkable moment at the school was when he got a 10 in a French exam. This was incredible for him because he was the only person to have this mark. The most important thing is that he wasn't very good at French but with effort, he achieved his goals.

In relation to the school,  his favourite teacher was called Patricio (his maths teacher). He loved him and he described him as a very funny, understanding and lovely person.

Finally, I would like to say that his favourite outdoor activity was soccer. He practiced this sport since he was 4 years old but nowadays he doesn't practice that because he prefers playing paddle tennis with me (hahahaha).

That's all babies! I hope you like it and enjoy reading about Miguel's life.

This picture is taken in Cuenca. We visited this place two years ago.

How to improve my listening?

Hello everyone!

Many of you have difficulties with the listening skill or want to practise this skill at home. The problem is that sometimes, it is very difficult for you to find good materials. I'll give you the solution!

There is an app called LEB, in which you can find many audios available in English. These listenings are more difficult than the ones you usually practice in the classroom but they have the transcription, so you can listen at the same time you are reading what they are saying.

Once you have downloaded the app, on the left you will find three lines. If you click there you will see many different audios. I recommend you the ones called "6 Minute English" (listenings about different topics) and "Drama" (listenings about fairy tales and books). Anyway, use the app and you will see how many resources you can find (grammar, vocabulary, news, etc.). I hope you like it.

Let's practise: Past simple

You can practice more online exercises in these websites. These exercises are very similar to the ones in the exam so if you are good doing these ones, you will not find any problem on Thursday. Good luck!

Grammar: Past simple

Hi loves!

Today you have a reminder about how to create the past simple in affirmative, negative and interrogative. In addition, you will find the differences about regular and irregular verbs. This is something you have practiced in the classroom so you have to review it and practise as much as as you can.

WHo wants to be millionaire?

Hi kids!

Do you remember the Wh- questions? Here, you have a picture to review them. I would like to suggest an interesting game:

-Prepare 3 or 4 questions to your parents, brothers or sisters and ask them the questions you have prepared. If they don't know English, don't worry! That's a good opportunity to be REAL TEACHERS! You can explain them the meaning and help them learning English too.
Moreover, I give you a website to practice the Wh- questions by playing games :)

-Who wants to be a millionaire? This a website in which you need 2 players. You can play with a friend, with your family or even you can invent an imaginary friend :) You have to choose the points you want to win and you'll answer some questions.

-Let's choose! In this game you have the possibility to challenge yourselves. You'll have to choose the most appropriate Wh- questions. Let's play!

Learning to sew!

This is the funny way in which the students have learnt how to sew to create their own candy bags for Halloween. They have helped each other and they have learnt many new things. This is an example but you can create your own bags with the shape you want. Try it at home and teach your family!

Halloween at school

This is a summary about how we celebrated Halloween at the school. In addition, the students had the possibility to see a Halloween magic show and enter into the Horror House prepared by the 6th grade students. I enjoyed a lot this day with my children and I had a great time at school :) Hope you enjoyed too. Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Static electricity: interesting experiments!
